Sri Lanka Department of Examinations (DOE) facilitates many services with regard to school examinations as well as various professional examinations. Therefore, it is vital for the DOE to improve efficiency of their services and enhance service quality with cutting edge technology.

In 2019, DOE refurbished the entire website together with Headstart, with new functions that simplified the procedures and improved the accessibility of its services. As a result, the usage of doenets.lk increased to 57,000 users within one week succeeding the relaunch.

‘Online Certification’ is one such significant function. This new function enables users residing in Sri Lanka or overseas, to request for G.C.E Ordinary Level and G.C.E Advanced Level certificates online and get the certificate delivered to their doorstep. Therefore, this function digitalization eliminates all the difficulties that the users faced while applying for certifications and collecting the certifications from DOE.

With the upcoming function upgrade, Headstart will further enable users to request these certificates to be shared with the Foreign Ministry, Australian Embassy and US Embassy through the doenets.lk, ensuring secure information sharing while easing the other ministries to access DOE verified results.

It is a common norm that employers face difficulties in ensuing the accuracy of the exam results when job applicants, apply for jobs with the certifications attached. With this new feature, employers are now enabled to verify the G.C.E Ordinary Level and G.C.E Advanced Level results of the job applicants, using the reference number imprinted on the certifications issued by DOE.

Thus, DOE is now meeting the needs of the next generation changemakers together with Headstart.
